About
I’m a designer and creative director with a career that has taken me from interactive museum exhibits in Detroit to digital design in Wellington, publishing in Tokyo, brand and creative leadership in Auckland, and eventually to building and running my own floral and retail business. I’ve designed websites, brands, campaigns, magazines, exhibitions and customer experiences — and, on occasion, things made entirely from flowers. My background in human-centred design has shaped the way I work. I genuinely enjoy the research and user testing — finding out what people actually need rather than assuming I know. I take much the same approach with clients: listen properly, build a good relationship and understand what they are trying to achieve. The goal is to answer their brief, not impose my style on it — while still making work I’m proud to put my name to. I like good ideas, thoughtful design and making complicated things feel simple. I’m equally happy thinking about the big picture or fussing over the tiny details that make it work. A good brief can take you anywhere. Apparently mine have.
